We offer auditing services of all transport accreditations - NHVAS Mass, Maintenance and BFM, TruckSafe, and the WA Maintenance and Fatigue accreditations in addition to TruckCare, the livestock chain of compliance accreditation.

An accredited operator has the freedom to choose an auditor.

The purpose of the audit process is to ensure that policies, procedures and records are meeting the Standards of a specific Scheme.  The auditing process should add value to an operator's business through suggestions for improvement, an opportunity to discuss ideas or problems with a professional, or discuss what other operators are doing without contravening issues of privacy.

However, we must be midful of one critical rule with respect to our role as both facilitator and auditor.

Auditors must be "at arm's length".  This means that an auditor should be impartial and not have an association with the business being audited.  RABQSA, the body which issues auditor certification, allows a system to be audited after a two-year period has elapsed between the time of the initial setting up of the system and carrying out an audit.

It is assumed that after a period of two years, a person would have taken ownership of an accreditation system - even if there have been no changes in the system over that period, the two-year lapse sufficiently distances the auditor.

It is against the rules of RABQSA, the auditor certification body, for an auditor to provide a client with the relevant documentation and an audit report, which will allow entry into a particular Scheme.

The NHVAS Business Rules state that an auditor cannot conduct more than two consecutive audits.  Whichever auditor is used, they must pass the "at arm's length" test.  It is not sufficiently distanced for two associated auditors to swap between each other in order to comply with this rule.

Breaking any of these rules may challenge the credibility of an operator's accreditation status, and we hope everyone will understand if we are unable to carry out an audit for any of the above reasons.

We look forward to working with new and past clients to assist in the maintaining of their accreditation.
